My tape/film is damaged. Can it still be transferred?
Usually yes. It very much depends on the individual tape, but in our experience we can generally still get a reasonably high quality end result from damaged tapes.
What will you edit out from the tape?
As part of our Custom service, we go through your captured tape and edit out any blank segments, white noise or static, damaged sections, parts where the lens cap has been left on during filming, and so forth. As mentioned above, we also can provide a thoroughly in-depth and personal editing service where you can sit with one of our technicians and edit the footage yourself, should you wish.
Can I edit my footage myself?
Of course! Our conversion to Digital File service allows you to receive your footage in any digital format. This allows you to edit the footage yourself in your own time. If you don’t have any editing software at home, you can arrange a time to come and sit with one of our experienced technicians to go through each section of your footage with you and edit out whatever parts you choose.
Do you keep a backup?
Yes, we keep a copy of your finished DVD on file. However, because of the amount of conversion work we do, we cannot guarantee how long these files will be able to be kept for, as hard drive space is at a premium. We do offer a service to keep a digital copy of your finished DVD for a price of £20 per calendar month. This is particularly recommended if you are choosing to edit your footage yourself.
How long will my job take to complete?
Our normal turn-around time is 1-2 weeks. If your job is larger than 20 tapes, this may be longer. We can provide an emergency service if necessary and bump you to the head of the queue, but this service does carry an additional priority loading charge.
Can I post or courier my order to you?
Absolutely! In our experience, Royal Mail’s Next Day Delivery Service has been incredibly reliable. This service guarantees that your parcel will arrive at our office by 1:00pm the following day, and we will call you to confirm both its arrival and contents. We can take deliveries and shipments from all over the world.
Will my DVD Play in the USA?
Our DVDs are supplied region-free and in PAL format. If you require your transfer to be viewed in the USA or another NTSC-based country, please let us know, and we will provide you with an NTSC version instead.
